I brought in a Seiko automatic I inherited from my father — it had not been serviced in years and was running about four minutes slow per day. The intake process was more thorough than I expected; Nazri ran it on the timegrapher and showed me the printout before saying anything. Three weeks later the watch came back with a new printout showing it within eight seconds per day. The condition register they gave me is something I would not have thought to ask for, but I am glad to have it now.

Case and bracelet restoration on a vintage Omega Constellation. I was nervous about the refinishing — I have seen other watches come back looking like they just left the factory, which is not what I wanted. I told them this and they noted it in the condition register. The result still has the patina on the dial but the case sharpness is back. The turnaround was closer to six weeks than the quoted five, which they flagged in advance when a part needed sourcing. No complaints.

My husband's grandfather's Longines pocket-watch movement went to Horolume for assessment. Nazri explained what the movement was, its approximate age, and what it would need, in terms I could follow. We decided to go ahead with a full service. The bound service record they produced is extraordinary — photographs of each part, a lubricant list, and a description of the detent that was refabricated. The piece now runs. That was the whole point.

I sent in a Tissot Seastar automatic that had been sitting unworn for about eight years. Was not expecting much — thought it might be a write-off. The workshop was straightforward about the possibilities and quoted the movement service at RM 480 which seemed reasonable for a proper strip and clean. Picked it up and it has been keeping good time every day since. Simple as that, but worth documenting.

Archive-grade overhaul on an ETA-based Heuer chronograph from the early 1970s. Long job — about fourteen weeks — but the progress notes kept me updated and I knew exactly where things stood. The column wheel was worn and a replacement was not available; they fabricated one. You could check the amplitude logs in the service record across the fourteen days. I was not expecting that level of documentation. Reduced one star only because the bench time ran longer than initially estimated.

Brought in my late mother's gold Seiko ladies' automatic for a movement service. I was not sure if it was worth the cost for something so small and old. The workshop assessed it and confirmed the calibre was in serviceable condition — they told me plainly that the movement had never been opened before, which I found touching somehow. They serviced it and it has been on my wrist since. The condition register is in my document folder alongside the purchase receipt my mother kept.

Case Study Notes
Challenge
A 1968 Omega Seamaster De Ville with cal. 562 presented losing approximately 6 minutes per day. The owner had purchased it through an online auction and the service history was unknown. Visual inspection at intake showed a dull mainspring and visible contamination in the barrel lubricant.
Work Done
Full strip of the 562, ultrasonic clean across two cycles, replacement mainspring sourced from a Swiss parts supplier, correct Moebius grease applied to the barrel, and timing set across six positions including dial up and down. Gasket replaced, crystal polished.
Outcome
Returned within three weeks. Post-service timegrapher showed +7 seconds per day in dial up and +11 in crown left — within the design tolerance for the calibre. Owner's note on collection: "Runs better than I expected for something this age."
Challenge
A 1980s Swiss chronograph on the Valjoux 7750. The chronograph reset was no longer zeroing correctly, and the owner — a collector managing several pieces — wanted documentation as well as the technical work. The piece had been in family ownership since purchase.
Work Done
Full archive-grade overhaul. The reset hammer spring was fatigued; a replacement was sourced and fitted. The chronograph module was disassembled, cleaned, and re-articulated. Component photography before and after disassembly. Fourteen-day rate log compiled. Bridges regreined to original pattern.
Outcome
Bench time was eleven weeks. The bound service record ran to thirty-eight pages including the rate log and all component photographs. The owner requested an additional copy for the original purchase documentation they hold. Chronograph function correct; rate ±12 seconds per day.
Challenge
A Datejust with significant case and bracelet wear. The owner specifically did not want an over-polished finish and was concerned about losing the angular lines on the case side. Previous attempts at other workshops had resulted in a rounded, featureless case.
Work Done
Finish scope agreed and recorded before work began. Case sides brushed using angular jigs to preserve the lugs. Polished bezel and endlinks brought back without rounding. Crystal replaced. Bracelet links cleaned and re-articulated; clasp spring replaced. Pressure-tested to 100m rating.
Outcome
Four weeks to completion. Owner's response on collection was direct: "This is what I wanted the last two workshops to do." The signed condition register noting the agreed finish level was kept by the owner alongside the piece.
